I have two RX 1's and they both ran hot every time I took them out until I put scratchers on them. Now I am having a problem with the drive ratcheting when I accelerate hard. It sounds bad and I have heard I may have to replace the track to fix it. What a bummer. Anyone else having this problem?

With the track with 144 studs and a good hard pack it will leave 800s in snowdust. Will clutching it hurt?

If you find the suspension on the SRX (SX for that matter) to be hard as hell or doesn't weight transfer try this...it works and isn't as difficult as people say. Replace the lower shim from the large 15mm that is on it to a 2.5 (ala XTC) or 7 (XT). I put the 2.5's on mine and find it's much better so far. It will even pull the skis! I've done a few changes to my SRX with ohlins. The preload on the ski springs are minimal (so they have pressure when there is no weight on it). A few rounds off the front and just snug on the rear spring. I can't wait to try it on the trails with my XT for comparison. On a few launches tonight it really sits back when you nail it now...

Hi guy’s I have 02 Viper Bender piped and clutched. This year, I tried something new, I bought a Heel Clicker 40-10 kit. In the instructions of this kit, It say’s Heel 4.8, Center 0.0 and Tip 0.0 for Viper piped (9000), and I know my peak is 8700. I put 3.0 grams on the tip to get the RPM down and the tack read’s 9000 again. The secondary is Bender too, with yellow/red spring, the helix is 02 VTP and the setting is 3/3. (Does anybody know’ what degree of this Helix?). In the trail, when I snap the trottle, the engine does’nt push at all (I lose power and top speed). I think the helix is wrong. Can anybody helps me on that? Thanks Rick.

I will not be using any bender products in the future nor do I reccommend them to anyone. I'm quite sure slp or Hauck would appreciate the business. So if you read this pass it on to others.

After breaking in the viper I put on the ceramic coated Bender pipes. Awesome difference. With the heel clickers 40/10 and the red spring and two grams ground off the tip engages at 4900 and holds 8700 thruout. I needed the bender red-yellow set at 0/3secondary -spring to hold the revs when hiting the snow. The expert X rear skid took a little getting used to. Transfers real well but seems a little tippy for fast trail riding. But losing the extra weight was great.

I just put a new silencer from MBRP on my xtc 700. They had two different versions,a trail and a race. I got the race one and i gotta tell you it sounds great. It is not too loud, but loud enough that everyone thinks i put pipes on it.IT is mandrel bent,it fits like a glove, stainless steel, and advertises 3-4 hp.I believe it is a very honest rating as it does pull better throughout the rpm range.Price 264.00 cd. Just letting you know because lets face it there are a lot of silencers out there and some can be dissapointing both in value and performance. have a great one YAMA-DOO

I was overrevving on my MM. Put on a thunder shift kit with adjustable fly weights. It took about three tries to get the weight right and I about maxxed out on the weight offered in the kit. It woke up the machine. It pulls hard all the way. I can stay right on the heels of triple piped 700's. I would say if you have to change weights this is a good kit just save having to peen the yamaha rivets. A scale it also handy. The directions are good and even addess heavy weghts for yamaha. PS this was my first shift kit and I worked through it on my own with no problems.

I installed the kit with the 8 mil. Head gasket. Came with Flyweights, rivets, Primary Spring Shims, Secondary Progressive Helix. The kit works great! No real top end performance but the extreme boost in low end makes this sled much more user freindly. Also the acceleration has increased phenominally sled will jerk you right of it if your not holding on tight.

the mountain viper works greatinthe deep snow. the original setting on the shocks was way to stiff. the position that mountain performance said to mount the suspension worked well but the track would contact the tunnel at high speeds. moving down one hole eliminates problem. with 151 camoplast track i can still see 111 on speedo however i know the speedo is off about 10 percent due to 8 tooth drivers in place of 9 tooth. it still pulls much harder and goes faster than my last 4 mountain max models.

I finally installed a cluch kit and man what a difference that makes and very simple to instal! I also did the silencer can mod, launch pads installed, mountain bar added, bar riser(1 in) didn't think I had enough slack in throttle cable and brake line. Also added a 1.25 Challanger track (no studs needed) I love this sled to death!! Best Yamaha I've ever owned. One question - If I add reed spacers is there room with the air box right there, and do I have to buy new reeds too? Cant I use the reeds that are already in there? Some one let me know please!!!!!!!!!!!

im hoping that some one out there can help me- i recently bought athe sled and while i was waiting on snow i decided some mods were a must. so since the sled still has warrenty i decided to let them do all the work. they installed delta force 2 reeds and spacers-bender triple pipes and have set myclutches-sorry dont know the specs, but they did install a bender power shift clutch helix-and tempa flows. the sled feels powerful, but on the flats my girlfriends 99 700 mm walks away- she has no mods other than the silencer mod. my sled has 130 psi in all three. but it fouls the middle plug kinda regular. the clutch engages at about 4100- and maxes out at 80mph at about 8500rpm. if anybody can help please e-mail me.

Had to have the PTO pipe reformed by Aaen to give more clearance on hood. Other than that, they are excellent without too much noise. Their clutch weighting specs were right on. I had to play with the jetting some including leaning the jet needle position. I am still fine tuning there. The Aaen twin exhaust guages are a must to monitor jetting changes without burndown when you run on the edge like I do.

He does out way me by about 60lbs but I ordered a Hauck #3 clutch kit and hopefully that will help. Has anybody tried anything else that works?

Product_Comments

I purchased the tour buddy aux. gas tanks so when i snowmobiling in canada which have so many long distances in between gas stops that it's almost manditory to carry extra fuel. The tank was fairly easy to install and has worked great. It's a clean sano look. It increased my availible between fill-ups distance to over 150 miles. The system uses the aux. tank fuel first so the extra weight of gas is used in the first 30-40 miles fo the run. Also I pound through the whoops and the tank has passed the test. It has worked so well I put one on my other sled too, and friends have added tanks to their sleds. My aux. tank holds 2.5 gallons and other models hold as much as 3 gallons. Great add-on to any sled.

I have many mods on this sled but the best BY FAR are the heel clickers, they make the sled accellerate like a scared dog!! The biggest problem is getting the secondary just right so that you can get just enough track spin! If not it'll just spin! When they are dialed it rocks! Haven't figured out top end yet. only revs 7900 on top (going to machine tips of weights this year) 7900 rpm at 120.7 mph!! go figure!!

I've tested almost every product on the market, Max roller ok, but break alot of tower pins, Best one is Snow tech, out of 4 Tested. Tried 3 big bores best one so far is new wiesco style but make sure you swain tech coat pistons. Makes 165hp and 110 torgue. Quick rods a must, camoplast 9830 great track. Carbon fiber trailing arms nice and light weight and wider ski stance greatly improves handling into corners, Now real performace guys!! tried 48 meatrons and 10,000 rpm hand built race pipes from trackside and a whal suspen.. all on a full race ported 780 and all I can say is come on 1050 hooper and 1000 skidoo's. I gave plently of crying towels out. I highly recommend this for racing. trail guys stay to rollers, heel clickers, percision silencer( best of 5 tested)

Power Inc. pipes good but supplied springs did not hold tight=pipes became loose melted a little where pipe contacted at rt. shock mount area.Maxx clutch kit could have been better.Going to try Turks recomendation for set up.Tried Bender silencer, was loud and clutch kit was unimpressive.New silencers may not be as loud.Maxx perf. long travel front and rear =much better in bumps!Medium yamaha windshield a little better.Maxx perf. small wheel kit on front of rails seems to help =less slide wear.Maxx perf. transfer rods help a little but I am putting on a 1" camoplast track for better traction.Put in carbon fiber reeds ,noticed a little difference not much ,but cheaper than v-force.Installed 4th rear wheel on axle.I also put a fuel shut off valve in the fuel line right next to the left front side of the tank. Was getting over 14mpg!When I put the long travel kit on I lost some of the slot car handling I had dialed in,I`ll try to get some back.If you have the 8' travel I highly advise you to try the rear long travel kit.Thats it -for now!

Had 93 exciter with zr700 cat motor(awesome) combination but the ride was terrible. Bought yamaha 700 for ride comfort, definately worth the money. Ran Power INC. pipes first, nice smooth power, wanted more. Sent cylinders to Bender Racing and installed a set of their pipes, really nice power band. Playing with clutching using Cat springs in secondary clutch( lots of options ). Recently installed a new 2000/2001 Mountain Max suspension in sled for better deep powder riding and stiffened up chassis for a more bike-like feel. THIS YEARS SLEDS ARE OK ( 700'S ). GIVEN THAT THE CHASSIS ARE BEING STRENGTHENED, THICHER BULKHEAD WEBBING AND YAMAHA CUT PRODUCTION ON THEIR CURRENT LINE OF SLEDS MAKES ME THINK THAT THEY'VE GOT SOMETHING BIGGER ON THE WAY UNDER THE HOOD. ALSO THERE HAVE BEEN SEVERAL REPORTS OF A SINGLE PIPED MOUNTAIN MAX WITH POWER VALVES, RUNNING AROUND HERE IN MONTANA AND ALSO IN CANADA. SO LET'S HOPE BIG BLUE COMES THROUGH.

I am running a 2000MM 700. I have it ported, pipes, spacers, and boost tube added to it. This machine is a very sweet running machine. I have had this engine on a dyno and it is pulling a strong 147hp @ 8500rpm. In the mountians it will pull 50mph track speed when into a climb. But I am going to gear down to 19-40 and running a 45 deg helix. and installed a vari-flow I think Yamaha should put a 800 triple in for next year with 145-150 hp. Also they should look into the rear suspnesion with the bottoming out.

Hauck did a 700 big bore kit for me and the sled runs okay as long as you leave the stock pipe on. With the kit came a set of Aaen twin pipes that sound mean but don't do a thing performance wise. I have tried every clutching, gear and carb combination to make these pipes work but can not get anything out of them. I am sorry to say this is not the first time I have had this problem with Aaen pipes and I am fairly disapointed that Hauck sent pipes other than there own with their kit. Does anyone out there have any solutions or have any of you run into any similar problems? If so please contact me at <jasonlerg@yahoo.com> Thank you!

Product_Comments

Pipes pull really hard off the line through mid-range, they however do not seem to add as much on top. The primary clutching and jetting chart appears to be very accurate(provided by Mountain Perf.). The pipes have actually slowed the sled on top speed probably due to the fact that the engine is topping out at exactly 8000 rpm's while before (with stock clutching) it reved to 8400 rpm's. Will need to probably change the helix to straight 47 or 46/42.

My mods are: Bender Triple Pipes, Reed spacers, middle layer removed from head gasket, removed stuff in the air silencer for more air into the engine, clutch tuning still in progress. Engine responds very crisp, even on full trottle from 2500 rpm. The trottle response is immidiate.

Clutch mods so far: I've replaced the original inner 14 degree sheave of the primary clutch with a 12,5 degree sheave. This will lift the driven belt all the way up in the primary clutch allowing the clutch to move to a higher gearing, thus increasing the top speed. Also shim up the secoundary clutch with 1.5-2.0 millimeter shims. This will allow the driven belt to go deeper into the secoundary clutch resulting in even higher gearing and higher top end speed. Expect 6-8 mph. increase in top speed on a stock SX700R, and even more on a tweaked one. Costs approx. $65.00 or NOK 700,-

This trick applies to all newer Yamaha models with 14 degree inner primary clutch sheaves. Increase in top speed will vary from one model to another. On the Phazer we observed a 11-12 mph. increase in top speed.

We happen to have tons of snow in Pell Lake. So i was able to see how 1.25 lugs would handle a foot or more powder. One word WOW!! My 2000 srx has stock track, not for long. Im installing another Kimpex 1.25 x/force on it too. Im that impressed with the new track. I recomend one for anyone looking for a new twist on an already top notch sled.Lets hope it keeps snowing. Product_Comments

My biggest problem with our sleds were the flat bottom skis that darted all over the place. I truly felt unsafe unless I was on the throttle. We got a good deal on two pair of the C&A's at the show in Novi, MI, and haven't looked back. These skis will point the sled where ever you want them to go, it's realy amazing. My tracks aren't studded, so I went with 4" Bottom Line carbides, which performed very well for about 600 miles. I've had to ride some shoulders and have crossed lots of road as of December 2000, so I'm not sure if 600 miles is a decent life span or not. Anyway, these skis are great, but my shock and springs aren't as adjustable as I would like do eliminate all of the darting. Whichever sled is following, you hardly have to steer, it's like a slot car. The steering effort has also been greatly reduced over the steelies, something I didn't notice until I hopped on a friends with original skis. If you're looking for good floating, point and shoot skis, C&A's are supreme.

CNC'd arms and rails look sweet and strong. heavier than stock, but way better riding. It also leaves more room for track and studs, and looks like it wont get packed with snow as easily. it also seams better in the powder. I didn't notice a loss of speed.

Love the way it hooks up, especialy with the new suspension. the soft outer compound makes about the last 1/8"+ soft enough to squish with my fingers; I'll have to see how it lasts. (if not well I'll still have over an 1") The soft outer compound was only another $25, lots cheaper than a full race track. Quiet compared to a reversed stock .75 track. I needed the new off trail performance.

Just finished dialing in this sled after a port job done by Mega Power Performance Products. All I can say is incredible! This thing pulls like a mother! Mega Power Mark's products are top notch quality and just plain work, no b.s. Customer service is unbeatable. Other things that have been done to this sled include:Camoplast 1" Predator (highly recommend), Digitron gauges, Bender transfer rods, Martin Barkley Racing Products silencer (highly recommend), 192 1.075 inch studs with Ultra light Backers, Mega Power Performance Products secondary belt adjuster (highly recommend), Heel Clickers (switching to Mega Power's Dial Engage clutch package in the spring), Bender anti ratchet drive sprocket collars, V-Force reeds, Cobra midsize blue windshield (highly recommend), Maxximum Performance extra wheel kit, Lightening Pro secondary roller (highly recommend), Hi-tech 911 kit, Blume Enterprises 100/55 watt xenon light bulb (works great). Other items I have tried include Carbon fiber reeds (give a lot better throttle response and that is it), Bender silencer (better sound and less weight but not as good as MBRP), Reed spacers, Hi-tech speed ring, Bender Clutch kit (didn't notice any difference, very disappointing), 8BU-10 wieghts in primary with 48/42 helix and Yamaha green secondary spring (on Turk's recommendation, performed a lot better then the Bender kit but a little less then Heel Clickers). After this riding season I will be switching to Mega Power Performance Products billet heads, dial engage primary clutch system and possibly oversized secondary. Will keep everyone informed!

Put Power inc quiet pipes, boost bottle, reed spacers on sled. clutching for 3000 to 6000 ft Primary = white/green/white 40kg pre-2.25kg/mm rate wts stock with 4.5g near pivot/3.6g on end secondary is 45degree with 70preload on stock spring 22/40t gearing/ carbs=141mains/#55 pilots/q8 needle nozzles,#3 posn on needle,1 3/4 turns out screw. It has lots of good mountain torky power - I wish I could hold on to it. The impressive part is the consistancy of running at any elevation. Jetting could be leaner but why bother.. Also have Simmons skis and they are a must for a piped MM700. Very positive control on trails and mountain with better flotation in heavy powder. Stock skis are mediocre at best. I am hitting 8200 rpm to 8500 on tach depending on conditions. Tach seems to read about 200 rpm high. Pipes are not much loader than stock.

I found the OEM windshield for the SX to be less than effective for the windchill. I ordered the 14" Cobra for the 97 and found that the fit was poor but the functionality was good, ergonomics was good and the look was decent without being in-your-face-high. However the fit around the front rounded corners was poor (1/4" gap), I expected more from Cobra for the price (100 cdn). Overall a C+\B- on the product.

Sled is ported to the extreme exhaust and carbs, one layer head gasket, advanced timimg, triple yamaha race pipes, geared, thunder clutching, 1.25inch camoplast snowX track, with 96 1.38inch woody studs down the middle, bender transfer rods, slp skis, egt gauges, removed air filter, ohilins shocks, converted sled to all blue with black tunnel, black windshield, blue handle bar cover, and white grips & barends. All mods great, cheapest & easiest is the thin head gasket(PS run great gas, never let sit over the summer or long, always drain the gas after long time with no use, I didn't and detonated a piston. Thin head gasket creates lots of low end power, but run high octane always!!!!!!)This sled has never lost to any brand or sled, even 1000tcats, yamaha power and tech. leads industry, happy tuning & riding BRAD Tonyan

My SRX has 192 Stud Boy studs (1.080) which hook really well with the TS-3 transfer rods. Under the hood is the Bender clutch kit, cold air kit, silencer, and Delta 2 V-Force reeds. The cold air kit and silencer allowed this engine to breath and also shed a few pounds which is a double bonus. The clutch kit hits hard and was a great add on. The Delta 2 V-Force made this already responsive machine even more responsive. My SRX has over 4,000 hard pounding wide open miles on it and still kicks 800cc ass.

Later at 4900miles I blew the track replaced it with a 1" polaris take off track this made a big difference for 100 miles when I blew up the engine. I put in a set of wiseco pistons reeds, reed spacers and geared down one tooth and all I have to say is hang on it really gets with the program for a 600 twin single pipe.

Relatively easy to install, just took my time. Installed with Camoplast 1.25 136" track. Dropped top gear from 23T to 21T at same time (now 21/39).

At first the thing pushed like crazy, took the back 40 to turn around. Instructions should have pointed out change to limiter strap needed. Getting better now, still some fine tuning to do.

Floats great, and much smoother ride.

Now need to do clutching, over-revs (almost 9000)like crazy because of gear change.

Overall, I like it and would recommend to anyone wanting better soft snow performance.

I own a Sxr 700 and it's the only thing to own in my opion. I have Bender rods, PSI pipes, Max roller clutch with their kit set up. Top gear is 21 down from 22 stock. One head gasket and 144 studs on a second yamaha track, I had replaced it last week it blew. The sled is overall awesome, I'm a trail rider and from 0 to 80 or 90 is where its at. I'm not a lake runner, but snott and hole shot is what I need. For the most part I have that would be happy with a touch more just for that first corner. I also forgot to mention, I have reed spacers. My one main question to anyone is what is the best set up for hitting big bumps without have it throw you. I like to ride extremely hard in the bumps and then when you hit a groomed trail have it be right their. Right now its close because there no lift in the corners and its not to bad over the bumps. 2 foot no problem its just the 3 or 4 foot moguls it wants to throw me. Last I would like to say I've been to canada twice and rode around here and tughill a few times this year, I'm pushing 2500 mile and not a break down yet. The main thing is anyone want to right back about set up on the big bumps I would appreciate it.

Sled ran great bender jetting was way fat. Even after dailing in the jetting, the dyno numbers were way off, best I could get out of it on a land and sea dyno was 149hp 93t.A bit of from benders claim,But it didnt burn down even after 1600 miles of long hard running in maine.Benders cold air kit worked great got 4hp with that.V force reeds didnt do much, seemed to clean up throttle response.Dyno port 3 pack silencer, didnt lose any hp, less wieght sounds great.Heel clicker clutch weights are outstanding when you get them dailed in.

Power Inc. pipes good but supplied springs did not hold tight=pipes became loose melted a little where pipe contacted at rt. shock mount area.Maxx clutch kit could have been better.Going to try Turks recomendation for set up.Tried Bender silencer, was loud and clutch kit was unimpressive.New silencers may not be as loud.Maxx perf. long travel front and rear =much better in bumps!Medium yamaha windshield a little better.Maxx perf. small wheel kit on front of rails seems to help =less slide wear.Maxx perf. transfer rods help a little but I am putting on a 1" camoplast track for better traction.Put in carbon fiber reeds ,noticed a little difference not much ,but cheaper than v-force.Installed 4th rear wheel on axle.I also put a fuel shut off valve in the fuel line right next to the left front side of the tank. Was getting over 14mpg!When I put the long travel kit on I lost some of the slot car handling I had dialed in,I`ll try to get some back.If you have the 8' travel I highly advise you to try the rear long travel kit.Thats it -for now!

Very pleased with the product performance of the Aaen Power Pipes and the excellent clutching component advice that they provide. The Aaen exhaust system saves about 23 lbs and does improve the handling/steering of this front-heavy sled. These pipes don't claim to make big hp, but they do deliver gains where an aggressive trail rider can really use power (low-midrange). These hp/torque is generated at stock rpm (8,400-8,500) and should not "push" engine reliability/fuel use that many aftermarket pipes generate with their rpm range (9,000-9,200). Olav Aaen is often available to provide clutching advice and his expertise is acknowledged industrywide as absolutely top-notch. Mr. Aaen's clutching suggestions were spot on for me and quickly got my sled operating much quicker than ever.

I would not recommend these pipes for 95 VMAX 600, I bought the sled with them from a dealer and could not keep the motor together if I rode for over a hour, (called PSI to verify Jetting and entire set up)I was lucky the dealer backed the motor! After to rebuilds, I went back to stock and see ran solid for the next two years and almost 3500 miles. I left the clutch set up and only lost a little top end ( 112 to 105mph) Not worth two engine rebuids for 7 mph.!!!!!!

1.25inch preditor track with 96picks down the center belt. Bender hot rods, took out excess bogies. Power INC. Race pipes, these are very nice sounding but extremely loud without a helmet, no ticket for noise after 4 years riding in the northwoods. One layer head gasket, shaved heads, ported exhaust ports and tranfer ports, carbon tech stiff reeds, reed spacers, geared, thunder shift kit, C@A race skis, ohilns resivoir shocks, took off stablizer bar, and egt gauges, holtzman fuel adjuster and the list goes on. Anyways the sled will constantly run around 105mph in 1000ft. of ice drags, have never lose a rice yet, and bet everyone by 3 sleds, one came about 1 sled short of me, that was a very well tuned 2002 polaris 800, watch out those are fast sleds. If you see a bad ass looking sled and sounding yamaha sx700 it might be me i am up north every weekend in the winter so I might ask you to race and money can always be involved if you desire to lose it, but hey I have to pay for all the mods somehow. Happy trails go team yamaha.

I have a few questions? I have an Aaen roller clutch, delta v force II, bender traction rods, and 244 woody picks. It was geared lower but i am haveing trouble setting them all up together. my friend has a sx700 stock that keeps right up with me and i dont like it. I was wonder if some one could help me. I was also wondering if anyone knows where i might be able to pick up an M-10. i rode one with it last winter it rocked. Last i was thinking about picking up some snowstuff triple canister silncers for it, I was wondering how they sound and if they add any horseys.

Holy Crap... Where do i start? First, whoever worked on my sled was a total lamer, didn't care about my business, or my money, or anything. I used to think pretty highly of pat hauck but wow, do not ever go there. The rx-1 is a total waste of money. Do not buy that either. I tried one out and it sounds crappy, it looks like crap, it rides like crap... buy ski doo all the way!!

Put the PSI Perf. Genesis 1500 V.E.P. in my sled, and this thing fly's. Have all PSI products under the hood including pipes, carbs, clutch, etc. This sled reigns all when it comes to racing lakes and grass. Rammed 322 woodchopper studs through the track, which really makes her stand up when punching down on the throttle. Will race anybody who wants to try this 358hp beast, thats right there is no mistakes in that sentence. With about 215 ft. lbs. of gut wrenching tourque, Nobody even wants to drive this thing let alone race it. All challenges welcome that includes the most dulled up sleds there are whether its ZR 500 stock or Thundercat 1000 modified, doesn't matter to me because they will probably puke if they seen under the hood and knew what I paid for all of this.

I am looking for a quiet set of pipes for my 2002 viper that will give me a horspower gain without reducing durability since I usualy put 4 to 5 thousand miles on a year. I am very concerned about noise due to the enforcment of noise polution and trail closure because of loud pipes which is a problem in my area of vermont.

Just got this Can from Richie Rich......this thing sounds Awsome. My friend has a Bender can on his 99 SRX and there is no comparison. The MBRP can is deeper and has more of a growl to it. I dont expect to see much in the form of a HP gain, but it is 10 lbs lighter and that is always a plus over the stock "anchor". Its also stainless Steel too so I imagine it will still look new for quite a few rides. I would reccommend this can to anyone who is looking for an improvement over stock.

Great pipes, bought them used and they still fit like a glove. The truest sound you will ever hear coming from a two stroke. They're awesome, have gotten pretty loud after they've been used. Boosted about 20 HP and never touched the jetting. Bolt on horsepower. Got 1400 miles on em now and haven't found anything that will touch the sled, great product!

Has a real nice tone. Louder than stock but not bad at all. at low "cruising" rpm it tends to have an annoying resonating sound. Don't notice more HP but the weight savings is there, and it looks stock to anyone that doesn't own a Yamaha. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a silencer. talk to Rich at www.richmotorsports.com. he will give you a better deal than Max Perf.

I started with pipes, and used my own clutching specs. I found Benders specs for the jetting and clutching not good for my application--2500-7500 feet. I had to add a lot of weight to both holes- 17.2 inner,13.2 outer" I also geared it down to 2-1 had the spider shaved for overdrive, installed a Dalton helix of 52/44. Silver secondary and a grn/whi/grn primary, changed the track to a camo 141" with extravert drivers. With this set up I was easily able to outrun 800's with pipes and lightweighted parts on the lake and in the hills. Only when I ran up against the totally done 156"s could they out mark me on the hills" I ordered the new Mtn Viper and have a Lightweight hood for it and a 156" track waiting, Bender pipes and headgasket as well. Anyonw out there know where to start with the clutching and jetting....

HOWEVER THE CLUTCHING SPECS ARE NOWHERES NEAR WHAT BENDER RECOMMENDED.WITH A 141 CAMO TRACK I CAN HIT 145 KLM PER HOUR IN THREE TENTHS OF A KLM, TRACK SPEED IN THE POWDER IS 78-80 KLMS PER HOUR. NOT BAD FOR A LITTLE 700

I put alot of money in to the sled before I had it out on the trails. I should not have done it. I spent $250 on the clutch kit, and $200 on the growlers(which sounded awesome, but no performance gain) $300 on v force reeds(which made me lose almost every race, don't recommend them)and $115 on traction rods by maxximum. (good place to put money, they worked well and gave me no problems) The sled with all that work was getting beat by a stocker, and good friend, so keep it stock it will run alot better that way. but even on a bad day it will still hand a (stock) thunderchicken it's butt!!! I absolutly love this sled

2002 SRX700. Put on 800 miles this year. No break downs at all. Put the control rods on after my first 100 miles. They worked super as I did not have to touch them. Had them set at full transfer. Next was the clutch kit from Maxx-Performance. Part #MAX-7MSRO. Worked good for me. Gonna try some Heel Clickers next season. Also ran 192 Extreme-Max studs. Got them from Richie-Rich. No complaints.

I have 600miles on my machine and just like Micheal DeLuce(e-mailer), I too have a machine that started whining form the crankcase area. The whine on my machine seems to originate from the right hand side of the sled. The machine did not originally have the whining sound, but it did start at about 500 miles. It also seems that the whine is very noticeable at 6000 rpms. Does anyone else have the same problem? And How do you get rid of this annoying sound?

Sled rips, but cant pass a gas station:8 MPG at best so far. Now just need to work on the ride - maybe revalve and replace foam in seat.
