Even with the ride date being earlier this year then last and the lack of snow falling in January the snow gods unleashed a major lake effect event that finally gave the U.P. the start it needed. This intern gave the TY Give Away ride a perfect kick off. The trails overall had plenty of snow to the west for us to have some near superb trail conditions. Special thanks to Todd our MC, Chelsea Graves, Louise & Sabrina Grawey (for Give Away Ticket Help) and Comfort Inn for having us. Also thank you for all the help from our sponsors for all the wonderful prizes. Yamaha USA, Yamaha Canada, Yama-Lube, Port Washington Yamaha, Power Sports1, Muffin Works, Yamaheater, F&S Yamaha,  LakeEffectSnow.com, Cranky Ape, Bender Racing, Mountain Performance, EVO Powersports, Pioneer Performance, Mack Studs, Hygear Suspensions, Dalton Industries, CB Performance, Curve Industries, Ulmer Racing, SledToys.com, Excell Motorsports, Amato, Leno, Liz and Gene....Hope you all had a  great time and we will see you on the next ride.  I arrived on Wednesday eve and hung out at the hotel talking with some old friends. Thursday was a testing day for me to work on some front suspensions settings and carbide combinations on a few of my sleds. Basically I went for a short local ride around Munising and over through Christmas and back.

Friday morning after grabbing a little breakfast at the hotel, we decided to make a run to Grand Marais, South to the hotdog stand, then South East to the Pine Stump Junction for lunch, over to Seney and then back to Munising.

Saturday was family ride thru Munising, over to Christmas, South past the Buck Horn to Camel Riders for Lunch. The snow was getting a little sketchy the further south we went. From Camel Riders we pushed on through the marginal snow over to the Haywire trail back North through Shingelton and back to Munising. It was a nice long ride before we started the Give Away event.

Sunday for a change of pace we headed west to Chatham, then onto Gwinn for some BBQ Ribs at the UpNorth Bar and Grill. After a full belly we drove to Marquette and over the Mountain for a look at the City. We took the lake shore trail out of Marquette to the sculpture park with some very very low snow ..... it was a tough battle listening to the gravel on the carbides. Once passing the park...the closer we drove to the Brown Stone the better the trail were. Overall not a bad run.

Monday for the final push we drove back to Grand Marais, South to the hotdog stand then to Seney for fuel then back to Munising to pack up and head home.

Thank you once again for all the fun on the TY Give Away ride. It was a great pleasure seeing everyone again and meeting new people. See you on the next Ride.
