M10 8" WHEEL & OFFSET AXLE INSTALLATION

BY: Performance Engineering & Machine

Items Needed:

Blue loctite for bolts

1/2" box end wrench

socket 9/16" box end wrench

socket 9/16"

"crows foot socket wrench" -makes tightening of inner most nuts easier.

STEP #1 .
Support snowmobile at rear so you have full and easy access to the rear track and skid area. Loosen track tensioner bolts as far as possible.

STEP #2
Remove all of the factory axle and wheel assembly from the snowmobile rail set up.
Save and store all hardware, except the 2 outer axle wheel bolts and washers
- you will use them on the axle block kit. (NOTE: they must be 3/8-16 thread-grade 8 or stronger- if not you will need to purchase two 3/8-16 grade 8 bolts that are 11/2" long from your dealer or hardware store.

NOTE: use blue-loctite on the two 3/8"-16 bolts that goes in the axel end and inner block.

Assemble the axle with your wheel or wheels (1 or 2) and the 2 inner blocks and the one 3/8-16 bolts in the blocks. Install the assembly as a unit into your rail set up.
NOTE- on some snowmobile models you may have to loosen a rear support shaft to get the rear wheel assembly.

STEP #4

Install the 2 outside blocks through the rail windows and lightly tighten the bolt and nut assembly to hold it in place, but still allowing easy movement in the rail window.

At this time you should install the outer two wheels.

STEP #5

Tension your track to the setting you want to run.

*NOTE*-if the track interferes with the rail, (AS IN THE DRAWING) you might have to grind down the rail lightly.
New tracks may need to have this done for they have not stretched yet to fit-completely. Double check all hardware to insure trouble free riding.
